The 80/80 split is just "nice" to have and it ensures you are in the 700+ score.
Also, I think you're worrying too much about this. The GMAT serves two primary functions for adcoms:
1. Getting "on the table" as an applicant (you're on the table with your score)
2. A separating factor between like applicants when it's time to make a decision on an applicant.
I wouldn't worry too much about quant scaling upward more. There isn't much more room for it to scale and your verbal score (95 percentile) definitely adds weight as a major differentiating factor (since so many test takers kill quant, you will stand out doing very well in quant and killing verbal).
