Query regarding MBA finance and work ex. [#permalink] New post 27 Jan 2008, 09:16
i have a BSc. in Computer Science and a MSc. degree in Engineering and now working in an IT Consultancy firm. I already have 1 year of work ex. and would like to apply for 2009 intake so that i have another 1 + 2 = 3 yrs work ex.

I would like to do an MBA in Finance since i want to move away from a technical role but i dont have any background in Finance.

Could someone tell me if this would be a problem in my application process and would 3 yrs of work ex. as an IT Consultant be sufficient.

Your lack of experience in finance should not be a problem for gaining admission to an MBA program with a finance focus.

I imagine that IT people going into finance is quite possibly the #1 most common pre-MBA to post-MBA transition.
