Profile: Yet another GMAT hopeful. I am 23 yrs old and about to complete 2 years of exp in an IT company. GMAT Test Prep score of 530 (37, 25). (has been a long time since i had seen formulas and had given with lot of disturbance including a 20 min walk courtesy my cousin during verbal) I believe i am fairly good in Quants and with just some brushing up I'll be up to mark. CR seems quite easy and comes naturally (got all correct ) SC and RC are my pain area Planning to take GMAT before April'13 (I read it's too much time, but have only weekends to spare) Resources i plan to use: From my small research on numerous posts and topics here, I plan to use: Quants: 1. OG12 (have it from library ) 2. Kaplan 800 / Kaplan Math workbookVerbal1. Manhattan for SC and OG122. Powerscore for CR and OG123. RC only from OG12IR-> some online material Numerous CATsPlease let me know if these are good resources, Have set a target of around 740.

Hello Aquac, I am also a GMAT hopful like yourself. My aim is to score 700 . I am not sure what material you are using but I heard that the MGMAT IR is not bad. I suggest giving that a try. I am going ot be using the MGMAT material as for the most part. Good luck to the both of us!. How long do you plan to study for it?

Oh my! your going for double masters! must have lots of energy to continue this long Which course are you planning to pursue? I am currently working as a Developer and PL, do not see much growth continuing on technical side quickly. A Project Management course in IT is what i am looking at.. will finalize on course soon.

well, my master is technically a full time research assistant position with part time studies. I am in the health research sector... but i find bench work on cancer to be too boring and i only get the chance to talk to other scientist which made me feel very trapped.
I want to do something on consulting.. so i can combine the two masters.. and work in something like health policy consulting and really interact with a broader spectrum of people.. i feel that continuing down the technical route. i would be very limited
do you have any idea what school you are going for?
I think i will start by studying the quant section... number properties... here i come! :D

Then you have much needed experience for applying to B schools too. Good Luck I actually have ITPM from NUS in mind, but looking for similar courses from other good colleges, just in case I too started with Quants, completed all Problem Solving questions from GMAT Quant Review, was a breeze, got 85% correct, only i was taking more than 2 mins for tougher questions, need to speed up This weekend want to nail data Sufficiency

You should practice with official questions during the initial stages you could move on to advanced materials later on. IF you want free video explanations from OG 12 you can have a look at this link www.gmatquantum.comyour resources look good. Good luck with your preparations. For IR Gmat pill and magoosh both have free e-books for IR.

"Procrastination is the thief of time" Staying healthy is alwayz good btw you started early i see, you had mid dec in mind, so you can take time to warm up. Data Sufficiency too in same range got 80% (16 wrong) from the 90 questions that i solved. I was also very lazy this weekend, should have completed the 118 odd DS qtns but i am still making very silly mistakes, 8 qtns were too dumb a mistake. Next week I'll join u in MGMAT - quants Will keep Kaplan and OG12 for later. How is your preparation turning out?
