Sorry to break the bad news.

But this probably means that you will be waitlisted or denied. I have personally followed many such cases in BW. Most ended with a ding.

All the best for the rest of the applications.

But you should call them up and try to convince them how much you like the school... May be they will have a change of heart

Well, I kinda guessed that it would be denial.
Not to bash Cornell, I did not prepare well for Cornell app. I wasn't sure that I wanted to apply to Johnson because of its location and lack of reputation outside of the US. But my friend told me it was good for career changer, and then I decided to write essay for it a week before deadline. Maybe, Admission office found out how unprepared my app was. You get what you give, right? For the next application, I will have to be more focused on each school in early round; but, I won't apply to Johnson. Thank you for information.

This Kinda happened to me. But I decided to withdraw my candidature even after paying the application fee. I had never looked seriously at Cornel but that career changer comment made it apply with recycled essays.

It is always better to do your own research regarding schools. The minute you decide to apply to a school just because it seems good on paper or because somebody you know got in. ..... you are doomed.

When i was totally convinced that Johnson would deny me, I received email informing status change in app. Apparently, it changed from "Currently under review" to "The Admissions Committee is currently reviewing your application."
What's the difference?
I did not get interview invite from Johnson.
Oh....I am the member of "Let's apply next year" group.
I got accepted to Tepper and Simon, but want to go to better school because of my unusual background.
Other schools.
Columbia: Dinged after interview.
Wharton: Dinged without interview.
LBS: Dinged without interview.
Tuck: Waiting after interview.

Out of curiosity - what is your unusual background?
