Anyone know the answer to this and can explain: I will post right answer after giving you guys a shot
------------------------------------------------------------
Choi: All other factors being equal, children whose parents earned doctorates are more likely to earn a doctorate than children whose parents did not earn doctorates.

Hart: But consider this: Over 70 percent of all doctorate holders do not have a parent who holds a doctorate.

Which of the following is a most accurate evaluation of Hart’s reply:
a. it establishes Choi’s claim as exaggeration
b. if true, it effectively demonstrates that Choi’s claim cannot be accurate
c. It is consistent with Choi’s claim
d. It provides alternate reasons for accepting Choi’s claim
e. It mistakes what is necessary for an event with what is sufficient to determine that the event will occur.

Good question .. this was a "trap" question .. though Hart begins his argument with "But", supposedly to contradict the argument but states a fact that is irrelevant in present context ...just to add more .. the argument staes that 70 percent of all doctorate holders do not have a parent who holds a doctorate that means 30% have parents that earned doctorate .. and it could be the case that actually only that much opf student appeared for the entrance exam ..giving a 100% success rate ..

dang good question ...

i think the most crucial part of the arguments was that Choi is refering to an action that is LIKELY to happen but Hart is talking of something that is ALREADY existing. So they are refering to mutually exclusive domains...
Hence C.

Its blurry but its there.
