Question on getting recruited through OCR

Hello all,

My undergrad GPA is 3.19. However, I am getting interviews with decent schools and was incredibly surprised to land an interview with one of the top programs. In any case, the programs I have applied to are one-year programs, and I have been told that if I want to interview for the Big 4 through OCR, I will still be using my undergrad GPA on my resume. Does anybody have any idea what my chances are with the Big 4 at a good school where everyone else's undergrad GPA is higher than mine? Also, how much help is it to join accounting organizations at the school if job recruiting takes place early in the year, perhaps before I am finished pledging for the organization?

If you get into a top program, you won't have to even worry about it. The Big 4 certainly care about GPA, but they recruit based on fit. You can network with firms well before the recruiting actually begins, so it is not as big of a deal as you might think. Top programs place well in Big 4, so I would focus on getting in. After that, it will not matter as much as you think.
