Questions on Columbia- R3 for 2010 or J-program for 2011 [#permalink] New post 10 Dec 2009, 00:14
Hi Alex,

I am an international applicant who is currently working full time while preparing the application for Columbia. I am planning to take the GMAT in 3 wks time (during the xmas break I can get about 2 full weeks to study) then I will be back to work while I am preparing my essays in mid Jan. I am currently in the consulting field.

There are two options I am considering:
1) Regular admission for fall 2010 - in this case, I am planning to submit my application in mid Feb
2) Jan program for 2011 - this will provide me more time to prepare my essays

My questions is which one of them will provide me a better chance to get in, given my goal is consulting/ entrepreneurial. Is it possible for me to apply for fall 2010 and Jan program at the same time? Look forward to your advice.

You can't apply to both at once. Choose one. If you're not making a big career switch, then you may be better off with the J-term anyhow (where you won't have the summer internship).
