Hi fellow GMAT friends,

I just want to clarify my knowledge on range. If there a set of number whose range is zero, are we certain that the standard deviation is zero in this case?

I am confused on this.

I know that range is the largest number minus the smallest number, but how is it related to S.D?

the "standard deviation" is a measure of dispersion or "how different are the numbers from its average".

A set of numbers with range of zero means that all of the numbers are the same, hence the dispersion of the numbers from its mean is obviously zero.
