Ranjit was extremely upset when he received a failing grade [#permalink]

Ranjit was extremely upset when he received a failing grade in his enginerring class, because he had attended every class, participates in class discussions and turned in every project except the 3-D modelling project.He concluded that the grade was unfair, since other students who had not turned in 3-D class had passed the class..
Based on the info above , it is reasonable to infer that:
a)Ranjit had never failed in a class before
b)Ranjit received a failing grade primarily because he didnt turn in 3-D modellling class
c)Ranjit received above avergae scores in all his assignments eccept the 3-D modelling project
d)Ranjit belives that he received a failing grade primarily because he didnt turn in the 3-D modelling project
e)Ranjits performence was above average in comparison to students in other engineering courses.

Clear D. Ranjit's discontent came from the fact tha the felt unfair that other students who had not turned in 3-D modelling project passed while he did the same and failed.

D is my choice.

What if his performance on the other projects were mediocre at best? The 3-D project seems to have been a make or break assignment. I`ll go with (B).

OA is D.
But i am confused as to why it should be D. Its clearly mentioned in the passage that Ranjit thought that there were some other factors due to which he failed.Its not just the attendance alone. Can anyone explain?
