Re-applying to Biz School [#permalink] New post 28 May 2004, 07:27
I got rejected from my top (and only) biz school choice, which is not one of the top 10. I am sure it was bc of my low GMAT score.

I am planning to retake the GMAT at the end of this summer, and reapply for Spring 05 admission.

Could I use the same essay and application materials, or should I revamp my entire application packet?

Any feedback is appreciated, thanks!

You want to show growth in your application. You can't do that if you submit the identical application as you did last year. You aren't mentioning which school you are reapplying to, but if you want to maximize your chances, improve your GMAT AND your application. Including new material showing that the rest of your profile has improved too.

Again, our article on MBA reapplicationmay be of help to you.

thanks but 1 more question... [#permalink] New post 28 May 2004, 13:36
Thank you for your reply- it is very helpful.
One more thing- other than a new essay...
I guess I should get a revise my resume too...

Should I also get fresh recommendation letters from different
people?

First of all, check the instructions from the school. Some will want new recs and some won't. Follow the instructions. If you have discretion, then yes at least one new rec focused on recent achievements would reinforce the message of growth and change since you last applied.

Different people? Again that depends. If you have a new boss, then yes. If you have the same boss, but have assumed different duties, then no.

Good luck!
