Hi,

I took GMAT last week and got 690 (Q47, V38, AWA 4.5). I have 5yrs work experienc in IT. Further, i have a good GPA in Engg from a reputed college in India. I am targetting Indians B schools; precisely ISB, IIM A, B, C. I am skeptical whether my score is sufficient to get accepted. Whether i should retake GMAT or not. Please guide me regarding this.

Thanks and Regards,
Vinay

I think you already know. A 750+ would be a decent bet. But if you have an exceptional story, you can get in with 690. Not that it is a bad score but there will be quite a few like you. A 750+ doesn't make the colleges accept you but it puts you in the top bunch. Then a little more effort can get you through.

And another thing I was thinking but forgot to put down - try to increase your score in Verbal. A V44 will give you an advantage since not many people get a balanced split.
