I feel very tensed and anxiety during exam and due to which my Gmat last attempts went in vain. I score well during practice exams averaging between 680-720 but i don't know what really happens i dont read the question properly, re read the same part a number of times or lose my concentration. This has affected my score a lot by almost 200 points and i scored 550 in the actual exam.
I am giving my actual Gmat exam in another 4 days so please suggest me any tips how to tackle fear, concentration, and not get tensed.
To be honest, there isn't much I can tell you over Exam pressure and anxiety, that you don't already know. Keeping all texts and the inspirational crap aside, when it comes down to the real deal, you do feel your heart flutter and it happens to evryone. Im sure you must have had similar situations where a lot seemed to on the line and a good performance is expected from you. The GMAT exam is one of such days where you literally need to wake up on the right side of the bed
Id share my experience which if described as horrible and disappointing, would not be an exaggeration. I ended up giving my first try, in a different city to which I had to travel over-night, stay in a very uncomfortable hotel and suffer from severe stomach-aches coz of bad food! It seemed as if the universe wanted me to crash and burn on this one!
But I lived through it scoring a 640, and I am prep-ing for my second attempt. Being anxious over this is normal, but over doing it would just pull you down. Re-reading questions over the fact that you missed something is sheer pressure and nerves. Just keep your cool and work through one question at a time. Do not feel that your going slow and certainly do not panic at any point of time. Its really important that you feel comfortable with the questions. This would certainly come naturally to you if you have given several practice tests. This is the time where you summon all your strengths and exam-readiness
Have a luxurious breakfast, lots of sugar( my doctor says it keeps u sharp b4 an exam), report in time, carry chocolates or something to keep u busy yet focused during the breaks and most of all, have faith in your preparation
Keep telling yourself that this will be your day!
Feed me some KUDOS! *always hungry*
