So I went through the application process in 2008-09 for FT in 2009.
Applied to Booth, Kellog, Columbia and Wharton. Was dinged from from all 4 (B & K after interviews and C & W without)
I'm planning on applying again for 2011 to at least B,K and C.
As a reapplicant, do I stand at any sort of advantage or disadvantage as compared against the fresh applicants?

Any feedback will be appreciated.

Thanks

It has been 3 years since your application. You will not be considered a reapplicant. You might want to check though. Most schools consider you reapplicant if it's within 2 years.

It's actually 2 years. I applied for the class of 2011. I'm planning on applying for the class of 2013.
Only Booth considers applications filed within the last 2 academic years.

My opinion is that re-applicants are at a disadvantage. This is from personal experience and observation.

I reapplied to a school that I interviewed before. However, I did not get an interview, despite of what I feel to be a better application. I had more solid work experience. My essays were better crafted to target the school and expanded on my career visions. I had a higher GMAT score. I better prepared my recommenders, and their recommendations were significantly better.

I observed the similar thing happening to several re-applicants on GMATClub. I do not recall any re-applicants actually getting into the school they are re-applying for.

The official acceptance rate re-applicant is similar to the normal acceptance rate. But I feel that this may be misleading. As I believe, re-applicants typically have been interviewed or waitlisted by the school. So the re-applicant pool may be more selective than the normal applicant pool.
