If I am, say, head of department, could one of my associates write a recommendation? Would the adcoms look at it with suspicion, assuming that because I'm still her boss I exerted pressure on her to write only good stuff about me? If any of you guys have been in such a situation, I'd like to hear some advice. _________________

Bad idea...I would strongly suggest you DONT use a subordinate. _________________
