Hey, Good discussion buddies.
Well, I would have chosen E in the exam.
Here also, I chose E before looking at ongoing discussions.
I think E is more clear than A.

Got confused...chose E...thats wrong.
Its the sales figures that have been so depressed as a result of the weakness in economy...not that the govt has taken steps as a result of the sales dip.

A it is.

wow, i was way off if the OA is A.

I picked E.

Since we have a semicolon, the next phrase should be treated as a standalone sentence.

"So depressed have sales figures been that..." has the correct idiom so x that y but it reads awkward.

I thought E was the most concise.
