Recommendation from Current MBA Student [#permalink]

I have a dilemma. One of my previous managers from my old job recently joined a high tier MBA program last year. He's currently a 2nd year student. He would be able to give me a very good recommendation since I worked with him for over 2 years. The problem is if this would look bad since he's now a student rather than a manager.
What's your take on this?

It would look good. He was your manager so he can comment on your performance, and more importantly he can comment on how you'd be a good fit for MBA programs because he knows first hand exactly what they demand of students and is confident you'd fit right in.

I'm also having a former supervisor and current B1 student write one of my LORs. From what I've read, it's not a bad idea.

Thanks for the reassurance. I think I'll have him write the LOR.
What did you put down for his position? His position when he was ur manager or his current status as a student?

He's including both. Keep in mind, his LOR is not for a top 5 program.
