I am currently deciding on my recom. and have the following question in mind:
Do you think the marketing finance manager(budget controlling manager) of my previous company who knows the financial impact of my work( I was a product/brand manager) is a good choice? I really did some good work that had very positive impact on the bottom line by increasing revenues and also cutting costs etc. , actually my performance got me transfered from the distributor to the parent company. Budget controlling manager knows every activity that I have done as his dept. was very much responsible for product profitability etc. and organized monthly meetings with marketing director and product managers to discuss the performance...
I intend to ask him to write one of my recommendations, the other one will be written by my current supervisor.
Yes, he sounds like a very good choice. If he was not your direct supervisor in your previous job, maybe insert a brief addendum sheet into the application briefly explaining what you just told me. I'm sure schools wil be totally on board with your choice. By the way, I discuss recommender selection in detail in chapter 5 of "Great Application Essays for Business School."
