Recruiting at Non-Top Tier Schools [#permalink] New post 14 Apr 2010, 05:58
Hey yall, I had a quick question. I obviously see that there's a lot of discussion about schools and recruiting, but I was wondering how's the recruiting situation like at non-top tier schools. I know the school I'm attending is a top 75 or so. (It is also in NYC)

So I was wondering what to expect during times of recruiting. I heard a lot of mixed things. Wanted some honest opinions on the matter. Thanks!

i think it really depends on the specific school. with that being said, i know that a lot of the "bigger" companies (goldman sachs, mckinsey, google) don't really even recruit at some of the lower "top 20" schools, so one can safely assume that they wouldnt recruit at a top 75 school. that doesnt mean that there will be no recruiters at all. a school in nyc (like fordham) will still probably have its fair share of financial firms / banks recruiting. will they be hiring for investment banking positions? probably not, but youd have to speak to current students / recent alumni to know for sure
