Hi venkat291182. I know this is a bit late and the R2 deadline is over...but did you end up retaking the GMAT?
That being said, I wanted to comment on this for future applicants with a similar question.
According to Bloomberg, the average GMAT score for UCLA FEMBA is 674...so you're not that far from the average.
I do know that the admissions council places a bit more emphasis on the quant side of the GMAT score so you're good there.
Will a higher GMAT score help? Sure. If you think you can do better, and you have the time and resources to do so, go for it.
Will a higher score get me in? It depends. Keep in mind that your application is looked at holistically.
If you let other parts of your application suffer in order to get a higher GMAT score, it would not be worth it.
How are your essays coming along?
If I were strapped for time, I would focus on writing an amazing essay that showcases my talents and explains my story.
Will it be a deal breaker that you have a 640? Most likely not.
I know a few classmates who have a lower score than that but they bring a lot to the classroom.
