Hey,

I wanted the battle-hardened opinions: how many times would you use one of the two GMATPrep tests? Meaning, would you take the same tests more than once?

At first I sort of assumed that they were one-and-done stand-alone tests. But i've realized by reading some debriefs that's it's not uncommon to re-use them. How often would you do it?

I mean, quite obviously, there will be overlap and you might have a skewed result if you see multiple questions and are good at remembering answers. Please let me know what you think... I haven't used them yet because i'm still in the middle-stage of my prep and I dont want to burn through the most valuable indicator of where I am at, just yet.

Thank u as always.

Hi exploringm,

I have taken the GMATPrep tests multiple times, at least 4-5 times each test during the last two weeks of my GMAT preparation. I intended to see see each and every tough question on the GMAT Prep software. To my surprise every time I took the test I found something new to look upon. Even I took the tests several times, my highest scores in all the tests including the repeat ones was 760(actual 750). GMAT Prep must be one of the most vital part of ones preparation. Taking a test once will not make it of less worth if you want to try it later on. Moreover, in the second repeat you will see around 5 -6 repeat questions and because you know the answers you can mark the correct answer quickly and move ahead. This gives you a chance to see the tougher question that you were not able to see in your initial attempt. As per my observation as you attempt repeats, the time that you take to solve the test reduces but there is not a very high jump in the scores. One possible reason could be the difficulty level of the questions. The best way to use the GMATPrep software is to take the first one just at the start of your prep to have an understanding of your zero prep level, then during the last two or three weeks before the test. Most of the test takes underscore the importance of GMAT Prep tests. They save it for the very last moment and are unable to get the most out of it. Make sure that you have attempted almost every GMAT Prep question before entering the testing room. All the best !!

Have a look at the the GMATPrep software analysis and what if scenarios that I and Bunuel conducted on the testing software.

Hope this helps,
