Reply notification via email - not working?

Hi! One of the things we can do is select to receive an email notification whenever there's a response posted to a particular thread. I noticed that I didn't receive those emails for threads that were update yesterday afternoon or today - I'm wondering if that functionality is not working? Or there's somehow a delay in the email notification?
Any ideas? thanks :)
