Sorry for double posting; posted it in another thread, but haven't gotten any reply; so posting it again..
I am a 31 year old male from India, and work in the IT sector (Information Technology). I have a total of 9 years of work experience at two reputed companies: IBM and currently at Infosys. However, my "growth path" in my profession is not been much to talk about. I am a project manager, and so is almost everyone with my experience.
My academic record has been quite decent all throughout my school and college. I am an engineer by profession from a decent engineering college in India, where I was among the top 10 % of the class. Apart from academics, my participation in extra-curricular activities has never been significant. I do have some certificates by way of participation in organizing few fest in college.
However, there are no significant leadership experiences either in college or at work. Even now, while I am leading a small team, I am aware that with my experience and age, one would expect a person in Information Technology field to lead a much larger team.
On GMAT front, I recently appeared in GMAT and and scored 720 on GMAT (Q51, V38).
So all in all, I think that my profile is average to slightly above average in comparison to the competitive peer group. I am looking for schools in the Asia Pacific region, primarily because I feel that I would not be able to get through to the tier-1 schools in US and Europe. At my age, I do not want to gradudate from a tier-2 school in US and Europe, with a large debt to repay.
Can someone suggest me some very good schools in Asia Pacific, where my chances would be realistic and the return on investment decent. I would specifically like to know whether there are any one-year MBA programs available in Asia-Pacific, because I don't want to take a 2 year break. I am looking for programs outside India, largely for International exposure.
Hey dude,
Well for big name schools in Asia there aren't thaaaaaat many, but I would start with INSEAD of course, then Nanyang, NUS, HKUST, CEIBS (if you are interested in working in China). Also have a look here:
https://rankings.ft.com/businessschoolra ... nking-2013With a 720, and your experience, you should be fine at most of these places (I mean your application should be competitive) provided of course you have strong essays and good stories. If you went to a famous Indian school (IIT/NIT,etc.) it will also give your profile a wee boost.
Although I do understand your logic, I also feel you might want to look into some schools in Europe - HEC, Oxford, Cambridge, and so on.. there are plenty of good one-year programs, and you may as well apply too.
Best,
Jon
