I am Balaji Ramaswami, an MBA aspirant.
Kindly evaluate my profile-

Age- 26
Gmat Score- 720
Quant- 51
Verbal- 35
Profession- Merchant navy officer (sailor/seafarer)
Graduate- Nautical Technology
GPA- Obtained 76% while the topper obtained 85%
Extra curricular- Still not very active in community services.
However as an additional activity, participated in Basketball, chess tournaments in school and college.
Kindly advice which all colleges would be good for my profile.
Am interested in INSEAD, Indian scool of Business, NUS, HBS, LBS, Stanford.
Pls advice.

Balaji--the good news is, b-schools love military experience and you should stand out in the international applicant pool because VERY few international applicants are going to be professional officers like you. This kind of uniqueness will potentially give you access to top schools. Having said that, however, I would advise you to apply to more than just HBS and Stanford in the US, since those two schools are particulalry selective and you would still be running the risk of not getting in just based on the statistics alone. I would choose a couple of more US schools in the top 10 in addition to the other schools in your global target range.
