Hi,

I am an Indian applicant, applying for the second time.

Here are the basic details:
- GMAT 1 (2010)- 700( Q 49, V 35)
- GMAT 2 (2013)- 730 (Q 49, V 41)

TOEFL- 117/120

Project Management Professional Certified (PMP)- 'Proficient' in all domains

Undergrad- B.Tech in Information Technology from mid tier engineering college in India
Undergrad CGPA- 9.21 (Gold Medalist)

Work Experience- Currently 5.5 years in a highly respected American bank. No gaps ever.

Experience includes- Setup of Corporate Communications function(8 months), Project Mgmt in a diverse portfolio (tech infrastructure, branding, corporate support services, and managing a $ 4.5M intelligent building project in a LEED Platinum building for 2 years). Currently a Business Systems Consultant in Technology Asset Management

Steady career growth and a number of company awards.

I can request deep insightful recommendations from my senior mgmt

Extracurricular activities include-
College- member of student council, led organization of department festivals and events, trekking (Himalayas)

Studied Spanish till B1 level(intermediate)- no official certificate though

Company- Represented my company in inter corporate quizzes(did not perform well) and soccer tournaments(performed well). Participated in a number of company organized CSR events
My post MBA ambition- Technology consulting for sustainable cities. Eg- Cisco, IBM, Seimens

Target Schools- Berkeley, MIT, Cornell, Duke, Michigan- Ross and UCLA

I was waitlisted from Jan to June this year by Berkeley and Cornell. Berkeley asked me to improve my GMAT(now 730) and alter career goal or back up goal (earlier mgmt consulting in sustainable cities). I am applying in round 2 for all the colleges

Please provide your insight on my school list. Is MIT realistic?

Please share any weaknesses which stand out for you. Should I add extra curriculars from school? (I had a lot)

Thanks a lot!

Hey there good sir,
Things look pretty good from where I stand. Amazing GMAT, fantastic TOEFL, wonderful grades and strong work experience for an American firm, including managerial experience. The one negative point that I can see is that your UG school is mid-tier, but still with those grades, you should have a shot at Top 20 schools, even MIT. It may not be easy, but you should have a shot, and I feel like you have a good, well-balanced school list to boot.

For Berkley and Cornell, let's hope you have some good "improvements" in your profile, in addition tot he GMAT (which should also be helpful), and otherwise things look good.

Go get 'em!
