Hey there,
Thank you for your kind offer of help! I am a re-applicant this year and would like to seek your advice on my profile.
Here we go for my background:
Nationality: China, Singapore Permanent Resident
Undergrad: National University of Singapore, B.Eng, Minor in Management 3.0/4.0 2008-2012
Working Experience:
Bushiroad (Japanese Entertainment Group) Sep 2012 to present, two promotions, now as office operation manager, in charge of administration, HR, and financial operations of Singapore hub and two subsidiaries in US and Germany.
Co-curriculum activities: basketball player, volunteer works and arts associations in university; now taking and translating sports related modules from Coursera.
GMAT: 760, TOEFL waived
Additional Info: Japanese proficiency Level 2, daily conversation and business reading. CFA Level II candidate
Career goal:
Short-term: sports management, or management in sports related industry
Long-term: consulting entrepreneurship in sports industry, for management and investment
Last Application:
Harvard, CBS, Booth, Yale, Tuck Ding without interview
Kellogg Rej after interview
Duke WL without interview
Own thoughts about failures: short working experience: one promotion; lack of connection to target industry: no specific courses in sports; and long-term goal not exciting enough: sports entity GM; and low commitment: no school visit
This year plan:
CBS (ED), Kellogg, Sloan, Booth, Duke (R1), Stern, Haas, UCLA (R2)
School visit: CBS, Stern, MIT, Kellogg, Booth - April; Duke, Haas, UCLA - July
I know it's getting tougher and tougher for Chinese to get admitted to top programs. Please do offer frank analysis about my past failure and advice for my plan of this year. I know it is a lot of information. Please take your time to do so.
Best
