C

Idiom: to..identify...

milk is not an allergy, so A, B are out. (allergies) to milk is idiomatic

" allergies, such as to milk" is correct, since milk isnÄt an allergy, as stated correctly by TeHCM

I think it's "D"
as others have stated milk is not an allergy so A&B are out.
You wouldn't have an allergy "for" milk, so E is out.
Between C & D:
C implies "Researchers have questioned the use of costly and experimental diagnostic tests in order to identify food allergies, such as to milk, that supposedly disrupt normal behavior."
ie- they are doing the questioning in order to identify food allergies. wrong.

Using D, "Researchers have questioned the use of costly and experimental diagnostic tests for identifying food allergies, like that of milk, that supposedly disrupt normal behavior."
it is clear that the tests are for identifying allergies, and they are questioning the use of the tests.

Although I got it right, I was not really convinced about the answer. Thanks for clarification guys!

Shocked me silly as well.  But then again, intuitively I am almost 100% sure TecH is Asian/American. BTW: Agree with the OA. Not allergic to milk itself, but the bacteria within.
