Does anyone have any advice on how long resumes should be? I have 4.5 years work experience at the same firm with two different roles. I generally keep my resume to just one page and feel it is sufficient. However, the Harvard application asks that we keep the resume to a maximum of two pages. I could come up with enough material to beef up my resume to make it longer. Do you think it is more important to have a lot of content and get closer to two pages, or should one page be a general rule of thumb?

Thanks!

All of the programs prefer a resume of 1 page even though some do allow for a second page. Keep in mind that the application form provides additional space to detail your activities and hobbies, so you really don't need to go into 2 pages.
