How long should my resume be?
I have a two page one right now, however I can trim it down to one with some clever formatting and removing a few bullets.

I would limit it to one page, unless you are specifically asked for an expanded resume by a school you are applying to.

Never more than a page...it wont be over a page while you are in school either.

Mine is 2 pages. Hasn`t done me any harm so far.
I beleive this is a cultural issue. Whenever i review CVs (resumes) i usually notice that North American CVs are shorter and don`t give me the info i need.

for American resumes, no need for anything longer than 1 page unless the school asks for specific things, like Chicago's extended resume. I have 6.5 years of experience, 2 degrees, and lots of Extra Curriculars, and I got it in 1 page.

I use the HBS resume style (an alum gave her resume to me and told me to use her template).. I found some samples in the MBA Game Plan site.. and my resume is very similar to the HBS sample given here.. http://www.mbagameplan.com/mba_resume_samples/Hope that helps!

One page is good, and two pages works as well (unless the school specifically asks for one page). Two pages will not in any way look unprofessional as long as you have stuff to fill it, and esp. for older candidates, or "multitaskers" who have lots of varied business experience, two pages is probably even better.

I've found people with two pagers in finance for anything less than an MD band to generally be either too wordy or think too highly of themselves. I usually urge others to keep it to one page for everyone's interest.

I really like MIT's suggestion: 50 lines max, nothing less than 11 point font. Forces you to be concise, because what is the point of a resume if it's not concise?

with education - do you only show FT or can you show distance courses too...especially being in full time employment for long
