I'm sure this dead horse topic has been beaten to death, but is the general guideline for B-school APPLICATION (not job searching) resumes to keep them at 1 page? I have one that's 2 pages and I'm wondering how big of a potential problem I may be causing for myself.

Also, are there any schools that REQUIRE a 1 page max resume?

You are doing yourself a disservice by not keeping it to 1 page. Just cut stuff out - everyone has to do it.

You are going to spend a lot of time working on your applications you should redo your resume. Honestly a b-school resume is often different than a professional one depending on your career. If you have a technical career you will want to get away from some of that. A school doesnt care if a software engineer is a java expert while companies would.

When you get to school its going to have to be 1 page anyways so why not get ahead of the curve a little and just make it that length now. Get it down to 1 page.

If I don't respond to a PM that is not one of the previously mentioned trash can destined messages, please don't take it personally I get so many messages I have a hard to responding to most. The more interesting, compelling, or humorous you message the more likely I am to respond.

Mine was 1.5 pages :)

For most people it will be 1 page, but if you have extensive experience then it may go onto 2 pages. For my current school we've been told 1 page, but 2 is acceptable if you've had a few jobs, which in my case is true, 6 jobs in my resume, so i needed 1.5 pages

Toga, you are not going to school in the US and werent applying from within the US. It seems 2 page resumes (CVs) are very common internationally but they definitely aren't in the US. I dont think going over will get you dinged.

If you are applying to schools in the US, especially if you are located in the US then you definitely should stick to only one page.
