I am trying to decide between Rice and Olin. I am looking to go into healthcare administration. I have visited both schools and feel that I could be happy at either one. I am not looking to find a job in any specific region post-MBA so location isn't a huge factor in my decision. I am wondering if anyone has any opinions on which school has the better overall brand/reputation and which one might have more leverage within the healthcare industry. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I have to notify Rice of my decision by January 13. Thanks!
WUSTL as a university has an elite reputation in the field of healthcare. MBA-wise, I met a few Olin students doing stuff in St Louis with Lumeris and Essence and they seemed pretty happy. If I recall, Lumeris is run by the guy who took WebMD public.
On another note, Olin has one of the top executive MBA programs in the country, and many top doctors and administrators in the area go there. I forget what the exact connection was, but some chief of surgery was also a partner at McKinsey, and I think he was an adjunct perhaps. Probably a good chance to network with those people across MBA platforms.
