ROI for architecture/developer field?

My education and background is in the architecture field and I'm considering an MBA in order to transition away from the design and technical side of the job to the business side. Part of me wants a top 20 MBA for the possibility that it might lead to a different career but the other half is wondering what the value is of a top MBA if I stay in my current field. I envision working for a global architecture firm, hotel company/developer or within the construction/development dept of a Fortune 500 company.
One thing I'm wondering is how recruiting works at the top 20 level. Do they show up knowing they're want to hire x many grads for positions a,b and c? Or do they evaluate background and goals and place grads all over the organization?
Do companies in this field ever reimburse tuition for simply hiring on if you're not a previous/former employee?
Will the prestige of a top 20 even matter in this field considering it's classified as an "other" both here and on all the employment statistics posted by schools?
