Is it better to interview in person, via skype, or with a local alum?

I've never visited Ross (only the UM campus when I was 10...) so it might be good to see what they have to offer in person.

If you can interview in-person, that's obviously the best bet. It not only gives Ross a chance to see who you are, but you'll be able to see if Ross is the right fit for you too -- you'll have the opportunity to explore campus, interact with students and professors, and meet some of your potential new classmates.

If you can't travel to Ann Arbor, I would personally go with an alum interview over a Skype interview, if there's an alum in your area. You'll get to meet with them in-person and you'll be able to assess how passionate they are about their business school experience.

From Ross' side, though, an interview is an interview, regardless of how you do it. Your application won't be looked down upon because you didn't interview in-person. They understand everyone has work/travel schedules, family life, etc that you have to juggle when scheduling these interviews. As long as you go into it with confidence and can articulately state why you want an MBA and why Ross is the best place for you, you'll be fine.

What are your thoughts on off campus alum interviews vs admissions committee interviews via skype? I prefer face to face, but then I've heard that adcom interviews tend to be less stressful as they have more experience in interviewing.

I'm in the same boat...hopefully they release more this week before the next wave. The waiting game for me thus far (not just for Ross, but all the schools I applied to) has been absolutely brutal!

I definitely think I'll be heading out to Ann Arbor (from DC) to have my interview. Hoping to go this weekend or next at the max.

A bit disappointed for not being invited yet, but it's ok.
Ross is/was one of my top priorities (if not "the" top priority)
good luck for everyone!

Was invited yesterday in the 5:17 wave :).
Curious for people who interviewed off-campus in the past. Did you only do one request, or multiple (assuming one would not respond in time), and how long did an alumni take to respond back to your request?

confirmed my interview Feb 22. Brothers and sisters from the great continent of Africa, let's network. If you are going to be in Ann Arbor Feb 22, hit me. I work and live in Chicago, 3 hrs away from Ann Arbor, so i chose the on-campus interview option.

I'm with you. But as others have pointed out, there is likely one last wave of invites going out. Hope we both get the email and get our shot at Ross!

I believe ross is strict 700+ school. No place for even 690's or 680's.
