Guys, I just read on the internet. Our dear friend nyama, being the most impressive applicant Ross has ever seen, received an offer of admission 3 weeks earlier than everyone else. Soojin Kwon traveled a long way to extend the offer in person. Unfortunately, Ross won't have the honor to have nyama as a student. The Vatican just released the news today. The Pope resigned because His Holiness felt he was no longer the man for the job. Nyama will be moving to Rome in the fall.
We here at GMAT Club wish nyama the best of luck in this new blessed endeavour.
From now on, it's a sin to make fun of nyama, ok guys? Be careful, or you might end up in hell!

In Ross, based in Long Island (NY, GC holder). Got called at 9:00 am sharp, today. (waited for 2 days, and almost gave up)
1. GC holders are considered as international applicants. I asked specifically. 2. They called most people in Asia before me (cuz it's night there). 3. No schorlarship, I guess. I did not ask (too excited from too frustrated).

Hello all! Good news (at least for you)!! I have officialy declined my offer of admission (and consequently my scholarship $$) from Ross. My heart is broken, but unfortunately some personal circumstances do not allow me to accept the offer at the moment. I thought about paying the deposit to have a little more time to see if my circumstances would change, but I could not live with myself knowing that this selfish act would take another person's opportunity to attend such an incredible program. I'm really proud of being admitted, and I hope my decision will help someone out there achieve their goals and dreams. Best of luck to all! bizwiz

About not entertaining scores in the range 680s or 690s - this is disappointing if true.
Their class profile however shows middle 80% in the range starting from 650. However, me being from engineering background and being an Indian female, I am not sure if the expectations are high. I come with 8 years of work experience of which 5+ yrs is international, concentrating on CPG/Retail sector alone. I have a pretty decent GPA. I have not received an interview invite yet and I am beginning to get nervous.
If i had read rumors and mis-truths bandied about on this site, i would have never applied to Ross. People forget that the GMAT and GPA, they are part of the application, not the only aspect of the application.
I have a GPA of 2.5 undergrad and a GMAT of 630. I got my sweet interview invite yesterday. Watch this space, as i blow the interview out of the water and get in.

If they call you for an interview, it means they are interested in admitting you. And they want to confirm, that you are the same person that they imagined from the application, plus get some more details, of course. The admission folks are busy people, they wont bother inviting someone if they have some doubts from the application. So if you are invited, you have a extremely good chance of getting in.
Yeah I agree with the above. Although I am not too sure how I did. Had a decent interview but there were 1 or 2 questions that I should have answered better. All in all i had a decent interview, not great. So I am not sure whether those questions will keep me out or do they take a more holistic approach in evaluating your personality.
If I may give my opinion, you should stop obsessing about it. Obviously, if you were invited to interview, your application was good enough to give you a decent shot at a spot on the class of 2015 (a better shot than those who didn't get invited have, wouldn't you agree?). Second of all, it is not '1 or 2 questions that you could have answered better' that is going to kill your chances. Everyone could have done something better in their application / interview, nobody is perfect. People in adcom are experienced, they obviously evaluate your candidacy as a whole, nobody has a perfect profile.
What I mean to say is, and I've said this before in other foruns here: believe in yourself and let it go! Your application has been sent, your interview is done, there is nothing else you can do about it. Hope for the best, and that positive energy might help you in the end.

Hi those not admitted yet,
Don't lose your hope. I just want to share with you something I have learned for almost 3 years.
My stats: engineering with 6 years experience, low GPA (~3), GMAT 700. My only strong point is Extracurricular Activity. What I can say is a lot, I spend around 20 hours/week for it.
When I started thinking about a top MBA, i saw no hope because of my weak profile. However, I set a goal and gave it a try, started my GMAT 2 years ago, my first GMAT was 580, second 660 and the third 700. In fact, it was not a pleasant journey, a lot of pain and discouragement, but it was the only way for me to compensate my low GPA
I applied a top MBA last year, got interview and dinged, the adcom told me that my stats is too weak. I applied again this year the same school in round 1 and dinged without an interview.
I came to Ross when I did a research about schools and I think Ross is a great match for me. Ross essay gave me a lot of motivation. I only applied Ross since I do not see my values match with other schools. Even though I need an MBA but I do not buy the strategy of applying 3-4 schools to secure a position. In fact, my friends told me I did a risky bet, and I did not know whether I would be admitted.
A few days ago, when I browsed this forum and found that most of people here have a better profile than me (in term of GPA and GMAT), I was really worried, but I got a call last night and broke into my greatest happiness.
So, my lesson is that you may be worried, but don't lose your hope. If you really want an MBA, find the school that matches your value. It is really helpful when you apply to the school. It looks like a sharing process in which your essay, your interview are from your heart. I think it is the key I am admitted.
