Hello everyone,
I got admitted to Rotman and McGill. These are the two universities I applied to. Didn't apply to Ivey because its a one year program and considered McGill to be more globally known than York.
McGill tuition and living is much cheaper than Rotman. I am inclinded towards rotman but I just want to be sure that besides rankings---Rotman is better than McGill. I plan to work in Canada for some years and then might move back to Asia.
Everyone I talk to--they recommend McGill because of its global name and people actually know about it. Rotman I have to justify and explain. Please do note that I want to concentrate in Finance and Marketing.
Can anyone help me in this regard. Can any one comment on the educational experience at both universities? For McGill, I could not find the placement percentage within three months but for Rotman, it is 94%. and one more thing, is it worth spending so much at Rotman?

It appears you are in the same situation as I am, I wish to return to HK to secure a finance job but is having a hard time trying to decide which school to go to.
I have previously done some research on the financial industry (investment bankers, etc) and I realize that the vast majority of the higher level jobs are secured only by elite school students. Since Rotman is higher ranked than McGill, it make sense for you to attend Rotman.
As for reputation in Asia, I do not believe they would know both Rotman and McGill overly well anyway, if it is Harvard or Ivey then it would be another story (since Ivey has an EMBA school in Asia).
As for education experience I cannot help you with that, since I am still trying to get into a school myself.

Thanks HKHSBC, yes I am thinking of opting for Rotman. However, as far as the people that I have talked to- McGill is much more popular-not as abusiness school or anything- but McGill as a name commands more respect.
If you want to work in Hong Kong, then HKUST could be your preference. They have strong ties with the industry and also do consider CEIBS.
