Round 3 interview at Booth...update application or not? [#permalink] New post 11 May 2013, 17:56
Hi guys,

I have a question that actually applies to my DH.
He was invited to interview at Booth a couple of weeks ago. He was interviewed by a second year student, and came out on a positive note. But there is no guarantee, and everything is still up in the air until the final decision.
Since the interview, he has a new job working as a project manager for a local startup business. In the last 10 days, he has helped devise and implement strategies aimed at raising $200,000 by June 3rd. He has been attending various events and networked his way to potential investors at many big companies in town. Once the money is raised, he will be in charge of coordinating various aspects of the business, from day-to-day operation to establishment of future ventures similar to this one. In brief, he's having a wonderful opportunity to be in the midst of a real life startup, and learning about many things.

A few people have suggested that it may be worth updating the Booth admission folks about this new work experience.
Would this be seen negatively by adcomms? Is this unethical/inappropriate?

He hasn't been waitlisted. We're just in the waiting phase after his interview.

What do you think? Notify or not? BTW, it'd just be though an email to the admissions office.
PS: the opportunity opened up literally a couple of days after his interview. So he hasn't talked about it before/it's not mentioned anywhere in his application.
Thanks.
