Yes, I believe that is because to get the average you divide the sum by the # and the 16 is the conversion correct.

Can anyone give a full explanation instead of just the answers please? The answers are given in the GMAT Prep test, not the explanations.

As the sum of n fish in pounds is S pounds and 1 pound = 16 ounces then the sum of n fish in ounces will be 16S ounces.

So, average wight of n fish in onces is average=(sum of weights is ounces)/(# of fish)=16S/n.

average = s/n

in ounce, the average = $$(s*16)/n$$
