Thank you! I am not a US Citizen and definitely do not have savings for the entire course. I am confused by when I can apply for a loan and how much money I need to show proof of but I guess you are right we'll know more once we receive our packages via email.

Hi All,

Firstly, congratulations to those that have been accepted!

Secondly, I am applying for the second intake and appear to be having difficulty with the "You at work: Please list your main responsibilities, your most significant challenge and your greatest achievement:" section, that I was hoping someone could help me with. I can enter the text into the box fine, however when I preview the PDF prior to submission, only ~ 1,000 (out of my entered 4,000) displays. It appears as though the preview pdf is hard coded to display ~ 15 lines or so.

Has anyone else experienced this issue, and if so, how did you overcome it?

Note, I am using the latest Chrome.

Many thanks,
Toby

Toby, I think the application instructions state that this problem may be encountered, and that we needn't worry about it. Please check the application instructions.

I agree with Trex, above. I had the exact same problem, and I dug around on the application page until I found a paragraph that specifically mentioned the fact that text entered in the boxes will be cut off when looking at the PDF.

So - no need to worry!

Thanks Trex and Daedalus :-D

I have found the section in the instructions that indicates to (essentially) ignore the pdf output.

Many thanks,

Has anyone heard admission since the decision email was sent out? Do we need to do anything to accept the offer?

Hi everyone,

I am contemplating applying to Said, and was wondering if anyone here knows a current student or alumni of the school that would be willing to share some of their experiences at Oxford with a prospective applicant. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated!

Kind Regards,

Hi Aerius, if you want to connect with Students/Alums from Said, you can either:

- send an email to the admissions committee, they would be more than happy to put you in touch with one of their Ambassadors
- check the old Calling all applicants threads and find users who have been admitted, then send some PMs

Hope this helps, and all the best for your application!

Does anyone know if scholarships administered by Said, eg Said Foundation, Forte foundation, have been announced yet?

I just received my informational packet from Oxford - SBS!

I'm a little surprised to see that the deadline for accepting is November 29th... I was told that there would be no such deadline by the admissions office earlier in the year.

I'm in the process of asking for an extension to this unexpected deadline. Anyone else in the same boat?

Hi daedalus,

Sounds very strange that they gave you that information. On the website it clearly says that in order to secure a place on the programme you have to pay a non-refundable deposit within 30 days of receiving an offer. I hope you sort it out and also that they give you the extension if they provided wrong information!

For my own sake, Oxford was my first (and only) choice, so am definitely not in the same boat :)

To those that have already received good news from Said, I would be grateful if you could pass on your profile for future GMATClubbers in the thread below:

You are, of course, correct! I neglected to read the FAQ section, where it is mentioned. Instead, I just went to the "Applying" page, and looked at the final segment (about confirming your place).

The funny thing is that I remembered seeing a 30-day deadline, but couldn't find it on the new Said Business School website, which is why I contacted the Admissions Office! When I received no mention of a deadline, I guess I stopped looking...

BTW - I just got an email saying that there has been a delay in providing intranet details for accepted students, and that Said Foundation Scholarships will be announced at the end of the week!

I referred to this blog for preparing for the interview and I think this is a pretty accurate description of what to expect too.

Good luck!
