B is the correct answer. This is primarily a Pronoun problem. Look at the changes in the answer choices: they, themselves, and it. Is the subject singular or plural? Army is what we are discussing, and since that word is singular, we can eliminate all the answer choices that have they or themselves - A, C, D, and E. B, which uses the singular it, is the correct choice.
