hi. please help. I think that B is ok, if ... had.... , .... whould have .... = had .... , .... whould have .... ? why not? 340.If anyone at InterCom Financial Advisers would have anticipated, or even suspected, the impending sale of the Koniko kelp processing plant, they would have advised owners of Koniko stock to unload all shares immediately. anyone & anybody = singular
they = plural
So, A, B, E are out, since you need a plural for "they".
C - would & if, cannot come together.
Left with D. However, I'm not convinced while reading the entire sentence. "If any people"?? "If any person", sounds better.

(E) If anybody at InterCom Financial Advisers anticipated (A) "would" with "if" is not correct. (B) "Had anticipated" is conditional in the past. Correct.. (C) Same as A - "would" with "if" is not correct. (D) "any people"? - Wrong structure. (E) Simply past "anticipated" is not enough. Need Past perfect form "Had anticipated" with "would have advised".

Totally agree with you Mr. Tiger, but in the o.answer there is D. This "Any people" really confusing me. Please can any one see why D is right?

As far as I'm concerned ANY is followed by either a singular noun or uncountable noun! so any people is wrong. I picked B. correct me if I am wrong
