C. We use Like to compare nouns, in this case we compare nation's airports to NY airports.

Adding my 2 cents.....

This one is best approached by remembering that "as" compares verbs and "like" compares nouns.
we're comparing airports, so A and B are eliminated.

Since D and E make it sound like we are comparing cities to the airport,
the answer must be C since that choice makes it clear that we are comparing airports to airports

Here New York’s airports are compared with other airports. Non-underlined portion shows one part of the comparison and hence shows nouns are compared with nouns. So, I choose C

IMO C

We are comparing airports(nouns) so A and B out.
ALso D and E compare cities

Yes has to be C....i got that now....

mostly sentences that start with 'Like' compares one noun i.e. airports in this case with another.
And thats exactky wat it is doing here.

Secondly, the tense IMO can't be are & were. The change in tense is not required here...should be the same.
