I will go with E.

Reason:

To combine two clauses expressing opposite ideas we need to ensure two things:

1. Both the sentences should be "Standalone"
2. They must be connected by a what I like to call a"Transition Word"(since it helps transit from one idea to the other).

All options except for option E and C violates rule no. 1. Between E and C, I found that E "sounded" better.

Can someone please tell me what that rule is (if my answer is right that is)?
