I have done the GMAT prep princeton review. I was clear when I read the 8 SC error types but when tests come I can't identify the error or lack thereof. I usually get most of the questions right because of my feel for the language as opposed to actually identifying the error type.

Is there a good book that will help me understand and spot the error types better?

I also really like Brandon Royal's Ace the GMAT. What I particularly like about it is that he groups questions together in "buckets" of similar topics (for SC, different grammar rules) so that you can solidify your pattern recognition. He also provides helpful examples for each of the main grammar rules tested on GMAT SC. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Are you doing your SC practice untimed? If you're doing it timed, giving yourself more time per question could help a lot.

You'll get best results by spending as much time on each question as you need to see exactly what's going on in every sentence version.
