A

"three hundred thousand" is countable so "fewer" cannot be used.
"Lesser" is not correct English.

That leaves only A.

even, I do that sometimes. but, it's always good to write down your thoughts and explanations. You will know whether you were thinking in right direction. :P

I too hurried in the explanation... :wink:

Actually the first clause of the sentence is a comparison - total sales can be "greater than" or "less than".....there is nothing "lesser than"...
