D is the right answer

since it is the most concise and comparision is clearer

A. is wrong because in the modifier, a verb is compared to an adjective
B should be avoid right away coz AS A FACT, according to GMAXonline.com, 99% of the use of "being" in GMATland is wrong!
C is wrong for the same reason to A
D looks okie.
E. the insertion of "in a manner" makes this choice wrong coz "adeptly" is no more an adverb for "handled"

D it is.

The first sentence needs to correctly modify the "new owner"
