Re: SC - Relief [#permalink]
I think A is correct and that is beacuse related parts are kept close to each other!
--------------------------------------------------------
(A) Relief for the thousands of traumatized victims of one of the worst natural calamities to hit the eastern coast of South America came from a rather unexpected source – the Silicon Valley Millionaires’ Club.

Me also for A.
What I think is Relief should be the subject of the sentence as it is being talked about and not the victims. So we are down to A, C and D. Among these A is the best, short and simple .

Re: SC - Relief [#permalink]
OK, I think we all agree that the OA is wrong, since it is D!
I chose A as well, like the majority. So let say the Unofficial OA is A.

What a waste of time, all this pseudo gmat tests. And also sometimes with stupid questions.

here is the OE...

In longish sentences such as this one, the best construction is that which brings all the fragments together in a proper sequence.

Here, the sentence has two fragments : 'relief came from a rather unexpected source – the Silicon Valley Millionaires’ Club' and 'For the thousands of traumatized victims of one of the worst natural calamities to hit the eastern coast of South America'.

Only option D puts all the segments of each fragment together, and places the two fragments in a proper sequence.

Hence (D) is the correct answer.
