Question Stats:
0% (00:00) correct
0% (00:00) wrong based on 0 sessions
Keeping to the high roads, running as fast as she could, as well as not stopping for rest, allowed her to make the trip in record time.
A. , as well as not stopping for rest,
B. as well as not stopping for rest
C. , and not stopping for rest
D. , not stopping for rest,
E. stopping not for rest
Would D be wrong? Is it absolutely necessary to have an "and" when that particular part of the sentence is preceded by a comma. Should I maybe pick C over D. The other answers look off.

It's definitely C
Mostly "and" is preceded by comma (,)

C. You need 'and' to indicate the reader the conclusion of a list. If you do not include it, the reader will expect another item to be listed, which is not the case.

Sorry for the typo-error, I mean I will go with C (and makes it parallel)
Following is my earlier reply, which is a typo error, where I chose D instead of C.
I will go with D, and makes it parallel and compete

Also in this case..
Usage of ',' after rest is another key differentiator to choose the right choice between 'C' & 'D'
What is the OA?? is it C??

I would go for C ..
Its like keeping on a A, running as B and doing xyz allowed her to .... So "and" is necessary here as a conjunction ..

I understood the need of 'and' here but whats the usage of 'a' just before 'and'.
which is correct - 1 or 2 ?
1) a,b, and c
2) a,b and c
to me 2 is correct.

I think comma should not be there .. But 2 is definitely not the answer.. Be assured of that ..

What if a, b & C are noun clauses (a group of words), do you still ignore the coma.
I believe when we use clauses, as done in this case, the presence of comma adds more clarity to the sentence.
