the choice is between increased difficulties and increasing difficulty clearly under the context of the question I will pick increasing difficulty. As increased difficulties means the number of difficulties increased whereas the sentence intends to mean the nagnitude of difficulty has increased. The other choice is between have been, had been or were
I prefer were

A have determined X........, since B were....Y

IMO C

IMO B
increasing difficulty is wrong... it should be increased difficulty which means that the difficulty has increased in magnitude.
it eliminates C &E. use of had is wrong..it elimates C, between A & B, I will go with B, as people still have difficulty.

Hi guys,

IMO A

From my point of view, past simple is needed here, therefore, we have to choose between A and C.

A. were found to have increased difiiculties
C. were found to have increasing difficulty

From these two sentences, A is the correct one

OA?

Cheers

A.
Either we choose simple past as in (A) or prsent perfect as in (E).
the scientists have determined the effect after studying the effects.
hence, (A) seems more concise.

increasing needs a comparison to some thing else. So it has to be A,B,D

Only B uses difficulty correctly. we are talking about only one such difficulty.

Thanks..
