AB - B is correct; who refers to historians (In A depending refers to the docs)

B for me as well. It is not clear what depending is referring to.

Who, however, modifies historians. :lol:

C,D,E incorrect because of wrong comparison.

(A), is not parallel, also it is run-on sentence.
