Need your confirmation on a right OA!!! For this question, even 3 OAs were given. But one of them I believe is surely wrong. Firstly try to find those two OAs and narrow down to one right OA which I don't know. Maybe you can try for the 3rd OA

Only seven people this century have been killed by the great white shark, the man-eater of the movies—less than those killed by bee stings.

A.movies—less than those
B.movies—fewer than have been
C.movies, which is less than those
D.movies, a number lower than the people
E.movies, fewer than the ones

Countable needs few B & E remain

B is parallel. E is not. This has been discussed several times here.

I think it should be E.

B would have been correct had it read: "fewer than those who have been"

A.movies—less than those - less is used for non countable nouns .
B.movies—fewer than have been ---parallel structure .
C.movies, which is less than those -misplaced modifier ..which modified movies ..
D.movies, a number lower than the people- no is compared with people hence wrong choice .
E.movies, fewer than the ones - presence of ones makes in little akward ..
Pls comment !! if you find this line of reasoning flawed .

I will go with D. D makes it clear that the number of people is being compared here.
