How many mistakes can you afford to make to score above 45 in GMAT Prep? Please thro some light on Verbal too

I've got 16 mistakes in Q before and got 48, about 12 in V for 40. I think its more about the distribution of the mistakes than the number. 12 mistakes with 3 clusters of 4 consecutives would be much more disastrous than 15 evenly spread.
